If you beat every zone, you get more than enough to reach your maximum. Im level 38 and all the sudden I'm seeing level 8 enemies, so I unless you just wanna get the secret armor there's not too much of a point in completing everything before the final mission. Besides you should be 40+ before starting The Hidden Ones, and 45+ before starting Curse. If you're clearing out the map anywhere close to 100% you'll be many levels higher than that, and each level you gain after the cap gives you a skill point. Btw, THO is just more of the same from the base game, but Curse is excellent.
